CATHERINE'S STORY:

Squirrel is taking a walk with a basket on her arm.
"Where are ytou going squirrel?"
"Getting some berries for my children."


To play "Hop, Old Squirrel" ...

have the children simply follow the recommendations of the song (i.e. HOP!) to the beat of the music. Ask the kids to make up different verses to the song, using different actions, e.g., Run, old squirrel, skip, old squirrel, etc. (could also be a different animal and keep the verb the same, changing the action to fit the animal- e.g., Hop old elephant,

OR

Choose an action to go with an animal, e.g., slither old snake, waddle old duck, etc...)

Have FUN!
